Refining Life's Ragged Edges

I seriously hate writing about me. What do you tell people? The customary who I am, where I'm from? Those are all well and fine but gets kinda redundant, doesn't it? If you want to know me, come read a long. I'm an open book - or at least try to be. I try to write a little about everything. I should one day find my niche, one day. I figure, if I keep writing eventually it’ll come. Mostly I write to help inspire. This world can be a pretty damn scary place to live in. The hate crimes. The sexual violence. The bombings and shootings. I want to be able to shed some hope. Even just a sliver. Something to help someone take another step in their day. I started this blog in the hopes I could help change a dark and hatred filled world. I'm not exactly sure I'm actually doing it or not. But, I'm trying. I also write to get the practice I need. Sometimes I’ll be sweet and awe inspiring. Other times I’ll show a bit of my true self with some dripping sarcasm and stupid humor. Then there are other times I just don’t make sense. Bear with me! When you come across my page, please feel free to leave me comments - about anything. Open forum. Open door. Open, open, open. I like having discussions about feelings (ya right) and hearing opinions of others about what I write. And other times, it’s just nice to know that someone out there goes through some of the same things I do. Thanks bunches in taking the time to stop on by! ~Pearls xoxo

Baliguat Bloodline

I didn't have time to cook this weekend. I originally wanted to cook this awesome guacamole plated as palu (throw up) coming from a jack-o-lantern. It was supposed to be for Bunco, which was tonight. Every last Saturday of the month.... Continue Reading →

Fiddling Through

Late should be my middle name. I didn't get to work until 10a. To be fair, while I would have been at least a half hour late, I opted to run errands instead. Unlike yesterday, I couldn't find a way... Continue Reading →

Against the Odds

The day is nearly over. Finally. Today I started my day off a little better than I have in a long time. I haven't been feeling well lately so I've been struggling to get up in the mornings. My body... Continue Reading →

Walking Dead Party

It's that time again. Tonight is The Walking Dead premier. I don't know what it is about zombies but, I love them. They're gruesome and gross and totally dead but they just are so dumb. And so I partied like... Continue Reading →

The Power of Yet

My husband and I are habitual people. While we are opposites we are alike in so many ways. We are both introverts and homebodies. We don't often try new things because it messes with our mojo in life. We require... Continue Reading →

Human Toxicity

I was sitting in a conference room waiting for a meeting to begin when I heard the moaning and complaining of someone. While I may not know this person I could feel the negative vibes from them. The room where... Continue Reading →

Redirection

I am not a mother to a breathing child. I do not know what it's likes to be a mother to my own child. But, here's the thing. I love like a mother. I think like a mother. I speak like... Continue Reading →

Open Letter to a Spouse

I don't claim to be the best spouse. I have my good days and bad days. What I do know is, no matter what has happened in the past, my future is not a future without my husband. I would... Continue Reading →

Easy Yellow Cake w/ Buttercream Nutella Frosting

When I was younger living in Hawaii I evoked my creative need to be in the kitchen. It wasn't because my dad was a chef or a baker. It wasn't because my family liked to eat. It was because one day... Continue Reading →
